Example for using SA-MXML

edited July 2011 in Process Mining
Dear all,

With reference to http://wwwis.win.tue.nl/~wvdaalst/publications/p485.pdf, the authors describe how we can extend MXML to SA-MXML. They also give an example of SA-MXML in the paper. However, an example of the use of SA-MXML would be really helpful. Does anybody know of any examples of "Semantic Process Mining" with SA-MXML?
Another Question: Do we have Semantically Annotated XES also??

Thank you,
PCoder

    Hi PCoder,

I can not give you an answer to your first question.

Regarding your second question: XES does not need a semantically annotated version. Since XES is extendible using extensions, and one of the 'standard extensions' is the 'semantic' extension, XES provides this functionality 'out of the box'.
See http://www.xes-standard.org/ and the documentation there for more information on how you can add semantics to an XES event log.

  • Dear Joos Buijs,

Can you give an example of how could I use the semantics extension in the XES format for further enhancing the process mining, semantically??

    Thank you,

  • Hi PCoder,

Unfortunately, I don't have an example but according to the XES Standard Definition (http://www.xes-standard.org/_media/xes/xes_standard_proposal.pdf) it is just an URI referencing the concept (which is described in a separate XML file).

Furthermore, I don't know of any ProM 6 plug-ins that utilize the semantic extension.
